From the age of 10 or maybe younger, I have always been interested in art, all forms of art to be exact and I, myself has created numerous masterpieces of my own. While living in Essex County, New Jersey I have noticed plenty of art museums but never got the chance to go inside. So, here is a list of art museums I hope to visit in New Jersey, and some you can too.

1. The Newark Museum of Art

This museum is located in Newark, New Jersey. It’s the state’s largest museum and it holds major collections of American art, decorative arts, contemporary art, and arts of Asia, Africa, and the ancient world. The Newark Musem also provides an interactive and natural atmosphere with its interior decor. The museum's admission consists of regular admission for Adults: $15, U.S. and Canadian Veterans & their families with a valid ID: $8, Children, Seniors 65+, as well as Teachers & Students with valid IDs: $8 (2 years and younger: FREE) And members: FREE. In this month of April, the museum has upcoming virtually programmed events such as a “Murder Mystery”, a “Lunch and Learn” and an “Art Face-Off”, providing a fun-filled day for the adults. In regards for the safety of all, the museum is temporarily closed and is scheduled to reopen this year, 2021. 2. Montclair Art Museum

The Montclair Art Museum is located in Montclair, New Jersey, United States, a few miles west of New York City. This museum has been known to be the first museum in New Jersey that granted access to the public and the first dedicated solely to art since it opened in 1914. The admissions consist of regular admission for Adults: $15, Students: $12, Children under 12: FREE, and Members are always FREE. The museum provides summerART camp, art raffles, spring classes (only for students enrolled in Yard School of Art), FREE virtual tours, and numerous exhibitions till June 13th, 2021.

As for these uncertain times, Montclair Art Musem is taking as many precautions as needed and advises visitors to follow the health guidelines when attending. Meaning, doing a contactless check-in, having your temperature checked, wearing face masks, keeping hands clean, and enjoying the art — 6 feet apart. 3. The Hunterdon Art Museum

Previously known as the Hunterdon Art Center and the Hunterdon Museum of Art, the Hunterdon Art Museum is located in a historic stone mill in Clinton, New Jersey. It was founded in 1952, when it purchased Dunham’s Mill, the Stone Mill, for use to display art. The Hunterdon Art Museum has a lovely landscape, which includes a flourishing of trees and a mesmerizing waterfront. The admissions consist of regular admission for Adults: $7, Seniors/Military/Students: $5, Children under 12: FREE, and Members are always FREE.

With its homey-feel-like atmosphere, the museum presents exhibitions featuring both local and national artists. The museum provides events such as summer camps, spring classes for teens, kids, and adults, workshops for teens, virtual exhibitions and poetry readings, and upcoming in-person exhibitions ending in May 2021 and September 2021. As of August 2020, the museum has reopened to the public and asks visitors to follow safety procedures such as wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart, using hand sanitizer dispensers, and printing materials like the Exhibition Family Guides or using the accessible materials via QR code.
